GGZ game clients pages
Games listed on this page are the ones the player gets to see when playing.
Some of the game clients have been developed within GGZ, some others by
independent developers.
Some clients can play several related games as once, those are known
as multi-engine clients.
The following game clients have been created by the GGZ Gaming Zone developers:
KDE games collection:
This collection of games for users of the
K Desktop Environment
contains 9 games as well as support libraries for other
KDE game developers.
Some of the games can also be played without network
against the computer.

Gtk+ games collection:
Based on the Gtk+
toolkit, 9 game clients have been created and bundled together
in this package, which also contains support libraries
for other Gtk+ game developers. 16 games can be played
with this package in total.

SDL games collection:
For friends of fullscreen games, 2 games have been written using
the SDL library which is very
popular among game developers.

SDL/Python games collection:
The Pygame builds upon the SDL
platform and make game development with Python easy. GGZ includes
3 game clients in this package, making it possible to play
12 games in total. Most games can also be played without network
against the computer.

Java games collection:
While not really a collection as it only contains two games,
this game supports nearly all of the GGZCards games.
It is implemented using Java
and is extremely popular with Spades players who use the applet
version of it.

Other GGZ game clients:
These game clients are special programs which are used to
let Grubby (the chatbot) play games or to have some test
games for the command line and for Windows.

The following games are not part of GGZ, they're developed externally
by other projects. We appreciate game developers who support GGZ in
their games.
GNOME game clients:
These clients are developed as part of the
GNOME Games
project.
KDE game clients:
These clients are developed as part of the KDE Games project.
Note that they will only be available starting from KDE 4!
Other external game clients:
Games of various projects which support GGZ.

Finally, there are some game clients which are not maintained
anymore. They are still of interest for developers and other
interested people and can be found in the
graveyard.
